Mr. Shy had his last Eid in the UK~
21.58 hours
August 22nd, 2012
Canterbury, Kent.

hey yo ! pergh, it has been ages since I last visited my own page. Everything seems dusty ! Haha, uh ya, this is my first trip to the blog page with my newly wed wife. Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls ; I'd like to introduce to all of you my new wife. Tadaa ~! Please say hi to her. She's a bit timid I know =P

Alright, back to the main business. There is an event that I'd like to share with all of you; which is my last Eid celebration in the UK. Uh yes, for me this year would be the last Eid celebration in the UK cause next year I'll fly back home for good ! To be honest, I thought I would be engrossed with sentimental mood and melancholic atmosphere during Eid this year reason for I have less people around me to celebrate the Eid with. Surprisingly, I had none of the those sad situations. I must say my Eid was awesomely fun and colourful.

You know I hate writing, so I'll just share the photos. Tehee ~

one more thing, I've submitted a 'salam perantau' to Berita Harian as well and you what? mine was featured in the newspaper ! haha. Thanks BH for choosing mine XD

occay, that's all for now. tata beauties and handsomes !

miss chis & sid kids

Mr. Shy misses his kids~ 20.18 hours March 06th, 2012 Canterbury, South East England.

I miss Owen, Sebastian, Brandon, James, Nick, Louise, Lizzy, Amelia, Alex..
I bet you're wondering who are on earth I've been referring to.
Alright, let's start this from the beginning.

It was last week when I paid a visit (or visits? hell, i'm not sure!) to Chislehurts and Sidcup Grammar School, in Kent as a part of my Contemporary Education module requirement. For a week I'd been returning to the school from Canterbury by a coach arranged by the uni. Believe me, the school isn't somewhere near Canter! It took us nearly an hour and half for each journey. The so called best bit was, I had to raise as early as 6 to get ready for the school! No more sleep after subuh :)

To be honest, initially I was quite afraid to be at the secondary school in the UK. All sort of images and stigma came to my mind. Blame the media!

Then, when I first joined the class, all those images and stigam went to dissapear. I was given 7D class by the school to be observed and I must admit they were good kids. They gave brilliant impression to me, and made me confident to be at the school! The first day always been the awkward day. They were quite shy with me (or was it me who were quite shy? ) and  barely talk to me except few students who were easy going and frolic. Gradually, they grew fonder with me and chat with me a lot! They even cheered up when I walked into their class and went to look for me when I lost in finding their classrooms. They best thing I love about them was they treated me like their friend and share everything with me; and that included their feeling about their teachers! whether they like their teachers or not. What pleased me the most were, they would love to have me as their teacher and they even request me to stay longer in the school! I know. I was touched too~

The last day always been a sad one. On the last lesson, when they were about to finish their class, we had a short farewell chat. All those hugs and wishes made me miss them a lot!

sigh..

this is dave. he was our driver. and he talked a lot too! especially whislt driving. =.=

Lapland

Mr. Shy's Lapland~ 20:42 hours Feb 10th, 2011 Canterbury, South East England

it was in malaysia when i first encountered this famous fairytale story from finland  called the 'snow queen'. and yes, that was the very beginning i came accross the name 'lapland'; a fairytale land, where tranquality filled the air, and covered with nothing except snow and only snow. it's carved in my mind that lapland is associated with snow, and this year when the snow was falling and covering the surface the name lapland came to my mind. my canterbury has turned to lapland.

it rather quite late i'd say for snow to fall in february. daffodils were frantic and were about to bloom, but crazy winter returned with the promised snow. left alone the weather, but i was happy myself. i'm thankful that i was able to lay down on the fluffy snow again this year.

the snow was quite thick. today is the fifth day after the snow rained, but the is still some left waiting to be melted by the roaring sunshine. the bitterly cold temperature keeps the snow frozen really. i just checked the weather forecast and it is predicted that snow will fall again next sunday.

i'll be waiting patiently.

p/s* whenever snow rains, i'll get this song on player. it suits my feeling very well :)

Graduation Party

Mr. Shy went to a graduation party~

South East England.

hari ni, Canterbury bermandi cahaya mentari. summer bright finally arrives, but not the temperature. angin sepoi sepoi bahasa masih lagi membuatkan tubuh muda ini mengigil. hari ini ahad, the only day yang membenarkan aku tido sampai lewat pagi. tapi entah camne, hari bgun kol 9 jugak.aiseh~

okeyh, hari ni nak menunaikan janji yg lepas. citer sal graduation party kat umah kawan kerja si smita. (Hush, ni nak tunaikan janji! XD). si smita ni minah nepal yang study kat ukc ; university of kent canterbury. beberapa minggu yg lepas, dia graduate. degree in bussiness. so sempena dia graduate, family and kawan kawan dia nak celebrate la kan. maka, me and fei fei ( sorang lagi kawan kerja diajak ke uma dia).

ade satu sebab yg aku respect kat smita and keluarga dia ni. dia respect pasal agama dan pantang larang budaya orang lain. sebab dia tahu aku tak makan abg oink oink dan seangkatan dengannya, family dia prepare makanan spesel tuk aku. walaupun masa party tu diorang tetab bbq oink oink, diorang siapkan makanan aku dulu. siap g beli sosej halal kat ASDA lagi.

uh ya, korang mesti ingat orang nepal ni ade iras iras indian kan? hm, bg aku orang orang nepal ni tak de la cam indian ingat. diorang more to fair complexion (nak mcm melayu pon ade). tapi dressed up diorang, similar to indian. pakai sari and all. and makanan diorang pon agak similar to inidian food. spicy and full with spices.

masa kat umah smita tuh, ade la jugak borak borak ngn pakcik dia. and to my surprise pak cik dia tahu certain words in malay sebab penah keje kat brunei. sambil borak borak, layan citer hindi. gua waloupun x minat citer bollywood, tapi layan jer. si fei fei terpaku. tak penah tengok citer bollywood agaknyer.

hm. tak tahu nak tulis ape dah. malas sebenarnya. oke la, nak g berendam dlm warm bath. dah sejuk sngat ni. papai!

Spring leisure to Wingham Part I

Kanda Tuah had a great time in Wingham~
0437 hours
April 12th, 2011
Canterbury,
South East England.

The longest journey ever made was to place we all already known, researched, and intimately described. Yet that journey, which might have done nothing but confirm established views, provided all mankind with a revelation. The journey was, of course to the moon.

It should not have been all that surprising, for that has always been the true purpose of travel: to see, experience, feel and understand distant place, but then to find another reward to gain a deeper knowledge of home, of one's culture of oneself.

The first time i traveled, i mean i really traveled, out of my hometown, my country; would be my voyage to England, United Kingdom. Well, being in someones' country would make me feel nervous, but after some time, my worries faded and my interest grew. It's now been nearly seven months since i first stepped down in the UK. In the vicinity of seven months, my true journey only begun yesterday when i went to a countryside in Wingham,Kent to experience the real life of a British country-people.

It was Carol's place that I went to, my tutor's  adorable countryside cottage with spacious yard filled with animals, plants and of course, flowers! The journey to Wingham from Canterbury town took me and my friends about 15 minutes by bus. We were about to missed the stopping point when we met Yasmine, Carol's daughter on the bus. Having no clue that we would meet Yasmine, there was nothing else that we can do except thanked her for being there.  At the cottage, I met Wild's family. John; Carol's husband their son ( i can't remember the name) and the surprised was, we were introduced to sooty and sweep, Wild's family lambs which they have been kept as pets. Malaysians might think having lambs as pets is a peculiar doing, but here in the UK, it's considered normal.

I have to admit, Wingham did reminded me of my hometown back in Kota Bharu. The atmosphere was likely the same. The shady trees, the birds chirping, and yeah, with no chilly wind and tulips of course! But, the flashback of my hometown did came to me. That was for sure.

jadi jester dan jaga booth!

yeah!! my hectic week has came to an end! I've done my micro taught, submitted my assignments, participated in Malaysian fest and the most important thing is, I've completed my short play! no more acting after this. i swear!! XD~

oke, the most memorable experience comes first. XP

my experience acting out the role of jester. a 'sengau' jester to be precise. to come out with the so-called enjoyable performance, my friends and i have been rehearsing the play for like months! i was given the role as Marlowe ( a friend of Shakespeare) initially, but then, as the rehearsal went on, Mike decided to change my role to jester. i dont know why, but people said the role of jester kinda suit my personality. freak!! haha~

one interesting info about being a jester. you can behave or act in any way that you like. well, the acts supposedly to be funny, and i tried to be one. during the real performance, i did become a crazy jester. i never knew that i can be that crazy. seriously. it never came to my mind that i would behave or act in such a way, acts stupid to make people laugh.sigh~

btw, the jester's costumes, my friends and me sew it on our own. it is our very own product! XD

the queen sitting on her chair, Mike (our lecturer, standing at the back) and me as a jester

the production team! not all are my team members. this is just a combination from the other teams XP

Marlowe and I

the second memorable thing is, Malaysian Fest! it was amazing. seriously. i love the people, the clothes, the food, the dances, the songs and everything. i didn't take part in any dance performance tho, for i was assigned to handle a booth, Malaysian national costumes booth (walaopun asik lari je.XD). Yet, i did joined several dances and games. hoho.

dato haili, rector  of IPG was there too

hi peeps,

Another cold day in Canterbury. i was shivering on my way to the campus. it was icy cold with 5 degrees temperature and had been maintain till early evening. the current temperature is 3 degrees and luckily me now in my own warm room, with a small heater appliance next to my only window. well, it sounds weird but somehow i do enjoy today's weather. i love the cloudy atmosphere with calm wind blowing. it soothes me. for the whole day, there was no sun shining. they were only gray chunky clouds together with light rain fall. sounds freak aye, for someone to love such weather.
